My life story has been a palpable Venn diagram of contradictory experiences. The details always make me sound as if I’m in a Witness Protection Program and can’t remember my back-story! Synthesizing those facts has been my life’s challenge.

  • Born in student housing on a Quaker college campus.

  • Relentlessly moved from one violent New England parsonage to the next.

  • Perched in comforting trees reading with my cat.

  • Rode Greyhound bus back to Indiana in tenth grade.

  • Left home for communes ASAP.

  • Assigned to foster care.

  • Relied instead on those communes for enough stability to graduate from Shortridge High School, Indianapolis.

  • Hitchhiked to classes and earned BA in English from Indiana University at Indianapolis. (The Complete Works of Shakespeare is heavy!)

  • Moved to Pacific Northwest to be near my brothers. Worked at Seattle Art Institute. Attended Graduate School at University of Washington, where looking at art books in their library would relieve my headaches.

  • Returned to Indiana and worked at Indiana Repertory Theatre.

  • Returned to New England.

  • Attended Hartford Art School.

  • Blessed with the two children of my dreams.

  • Moved to Dartmouth College’s married student housing for five years.

      Commissions! Thrilled clients!

  • Moved back to Connecticut. Visiting Artist for Simsbury Public Schools.

  • PRAXIS II ART MAKING: ART CONTENT AESTHETICS and ART CONTENT KNOWLEDGE.

  • Received Greater Hartford Arts Council Grant.

  • My studio visited by Real Art Ways’ curator Aaron Wartner.

  • Canton Artists Guild board member.

  • 2007 Masters in Secondary Education (Outstanding Performance Award).
